Trichoderma Viride

Technology Details:
Technology Details Trichoderma viride has been described as a promising antagonistic agent against various phytopathogenic fungi and nematodes. Trichoderma viride IIHR Tv-5 had exhibited antagonistic activity against root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita by causing 56 to 58 % suppression in egg hatching; 66 to 72% inhibition in growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. vasinfectum; 63 to 67% inhibition in growth of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici; 65 to 71% inhibition in growth of Sclerotium rolfsii; 65 to 70% inhibition in growth of Fusarium solani. It also exhibited an increase in yield of 12.8 to 13.6% in brinjal, 14.4 to 16.2% in carrot, 13.6 to 14.4 % in tomato and 15.6 to 16.3% in okra under field conditions. This ability makes it a healthier, safer and environmentally friendlier biological choice, compared with polluting chemical pesticides, usually employed in agriculture.
